SUSTAINABILITY

Introducing the Native Youth Spotlight Series, where we will be casting a spotlight on topics we believe you will find useful about our methods, processes, interests, and collaborations.

The first spotlight series focuses on sustainability and delves into the journey we are on to becoming even more sustainable.

WHAT IS SUSTAINABLE FASHION?

Sustainable fashion is a movement and process of fostering change to fashion products and the fashion system towards greater ecological integrity and social justice. Sustainable fashion concerns more than just addressing fashion textiles or products.

Native Youth was founded with the mission of raising the quality of clothing design to develop well considered, beautifully made clothing in exceptional fabrics and importantly accessible to more people.

We believe we can work towards making more sustainable design accessible to more people and can work towards achieving a positive change in the fashion and design industry.

WHAT DOES SUSTAINABILITY MEAN TO US?

To us sustainability means living in a way in which what we consume does not exceed what we contribute.

We're on a path to create collections of beautiful, trend-led clothing that has minimal impact on the earth. This is a journey and we want to take you, our community, with us on to keep on improve how we design our clothes.

After all this is a planet we all live on, so why not do our best to take care of it, right?

WHAT WE ARE CURRENTLY DOING?

Our first womenswear collection launched in summer 2015, where we introduced TENCEL  denim products. This created a beautiful product that had a fluidity that we couldn’t achieve through regular denim, whilst also minimising our impact on the earth.

Since then to now we are proud to say the Spring Summer 21 collection is 27% sustainable and we're committed to continue to a stage where we can be fully sustainable clothing brand.

The Spring-Summer 21 Collection includes numerous styles made from eco-friendly fabrications including, ECOVERO, Organic Cotton, Recycled Polyester and TENCEL

We are on a journey to become even more sustainable, which means sourcing even more sustainable materials and improving the processes used to create the styles you love to wear.
